Video; NEW Editing Demo Reel!!
The long-awaited, long requested Editing Demo Reel. Feast your eyes!
Scope/Objective;Basically show our editing and that we add tons of 3D and graphics. But... How to "demonstrate" editing, when the best editing is invisible to the audience, allowing them to be immersed into the video or film WITHOUT the distraction of editing itself? A good editing job, means you never notice the editing at all! Yet, there are many basics and examples worthy of drawing attention to, for this purpose of a demo reel.
Provided;Sorry, there was just NO WAY to keep this down to the recommended 60 seconds. Just too much to show. So.... We took this opportunity to create a short(ish) but VERY high quality demo VIDEO that covered the essential concepts of editing (a mere fraction of the art of editing really). If you break it down, we started with a plan; A script or Beat Sheet in this case. There are 21 Sequences; Seq 01 - Pre-Hype, Seq 02 - Branding, Seq 03 - Editor Demo Reel 3D Title, Seq 04 - Our Approach, Seq 05 - Tools - Software, Seq 06 - Tools - Hardware, Seq 07 - Examples - Eye Trace, Seq 08 - Examples - Great Moments, Seq 09 - Examples - Composition Modes, Seq 10 - Pause for laughter, Seq 11 - Examples - Transitions, Seq 12 - Examples - 20 Split Screen, Seq 13 - Examples - Masking, Seq 14 - Examples - Color Passes, Seq 15 - Examples - Shot List, Seq 16 - Examples - Engaging Interviews & Dialog, Seq 17 - Examples - Emotions, Seq 18 - Examples - more Emotions, Seq 19 - Testimonials, Seq 20 - Finale Crescendo, Seq 21 - Closing Logo
30 completely unrelated pieces of drum rhythms are perfectly timed and stitched together into one seamless drum track (yeah really!), over the top of which lay TONS of stunning 3D and various graphics that embellish this fast-paced 2.5 min stretch of eye candy.

Editing for Film and Video
Editing is the Invisible Art Form:
Editing is an art form just much as any art. It’s the “invisible art” because if an editor does his job correctly, the audience never notices, never gets distracted by, and never puts any focus on the editing itself. The audience exclusively becomes immersed into the film, video or presentation, and the that's all. It can and does make or break a video. Ever seen a movie with crappy, jolting jump shots, or monotonous slow shots held on the actor/scene for WAY too long? That's what we're talking about here.
An editor takes raw footage, stills, music and any other media, carefully selects appropriate shots, and combines all this them into logical sequences according to a well-written Script to create a finished video. Assembly, Rough Cut, Fine Cut, Color Grading, Music timing, Special Effects, etc., there are many disciplines to the art of editing.
With video editing we don’t merely dispassionately put Clips together in the hopes of a not-so-ragged final video or episode, or worse, regurgitate low-res YouTube car-crash videos and slap some non-sequitur music over the top with some silly online editor made for Elementary/Middle school kids. Ugly and unprofessional.
In the contrary, we creatively work with the spirit of the original Script, layers of footage and images, the mood of the story, the keywords of the narration, the interaction of the speaker’s dialogue, establishing shots, emotional close-ups, the arrangement and cadence of the music, the pacing, the placement and flow of the graphic elements, the nuances of special effects and ALL the key principles of marketing to effectively craft all components into a cohesive whole film or video that has continuity, conveys the message, entertains the audience and inspires buyer confidence.
The final video has meaningful message, mood, pace, inspiration, impact, and remains memorable. THAT’S editing.
