Endless Graphics Newsletter #35 - What works for you?
What works for you?
Sometimes its good to get back to simplicity in ones promotion. If a business has been around awhile or has ever had a period of expansion.... at some point, there was usually at least one successful marketing campaign.
I would like to point out it is very good to discover this and strengthen that campaign.
With the world of technology constantly changing and becoming literally a moving target, if one can identify the main successful campaign, well, examine it even more closely. Then creatively work out how to move it to the 21st century!
Companies by not “keeping up” due to fixed thoughts in this area can hold their promotion down. For example, it used to be vital that one had the company name domain .com; the .com was vital and wars have been fought over this! But….now with all the Social Networking sites springing up…..what about the “.twitter page” for your company?? Or the “.blog page” for your company?? If one does not keep up this technology and stay fresh, one can begin to loose his “domain” so-to-speak…..
As an example, you know, someone grabs your companies blog name and goes wild promoting your company name as his own, makes a mistake which can cost you time and money, even, promoting their company under your name, or grabbing the name of a well branded company to push their own.
Well….yes one must stay up on new technology for sure, but what about finding a happy marriage between what has been successful for you and what people expect now?
For example, if you’ve always sent out postcards….and that has driven your expansion, why not put your website domain name AND your twitter site domain + your facebook page…..etc.
But completely departing from postcards….well….that might be a problem, you see?
These are just a few thoughts about keeping successful promotional actions going as a stable point to work from; so not abandoning them, just improving and increasing that promotion.
