The Use of a Data Base in Internet Marketing.

This week I want to cover one very successful action which has created excellent return on investment for companies we have worked with.

Our internet marketing partner stated the following:

One of the points he recommends is gathering a central database file.

One specific client of ours has had tremendous success with this. The project was to help him independently publish and launch his new book called Zen In Roads Essentials. Endless Graphics first did a design for his book and CD cover and followed with a full collateral campaign design for his training materials, promo items and new e-commerce website.

Mark had collected a large data base of e-mails over the years. We set up a way for him to easily e-mail his existing data base of about 900 people; those who he had worked with, trained or met in his profession. Mark teaches a very niche civil engineering software called ‘In Roads’ which is what his book is about. This is quite a narrow market. We created an HTML e-mail with the same look as his materials, book and website. You can see a few of these items through these links:

We launched his site and book last Nov 2003, so its been a year and a half now. The key action he has done to generate sales is to send out an e-mail with Tips and Tricks every two weeks or so to this list of 900. He has made well over $100,000 in sales of his book through the website. $10,000 of which occurred in the very first week! So in that first week…. he made nearly his entire investment back in sales!

We suggest getting a strong, professional logo and follow with professional integrated design for your company promotion to build up your company brand recognition. Once you have a good professional website and promo materials in place, we have seen success by following this with a well designed E-mail campaign containing valuable information which goes regularly to your existing data base is a very powerful and inexpensive action.
